POINTS

A GUIDE TO THE CURRENCY OF SOUTHERN POINT

Points are the site currency of Southern Point. They are used to purchase various items from the site shop, such as disabilities, extra pups in a litter, and many more. They are also used in user shops to purchase art, graphics, and coding from other members. This topic serves as some ideas on how to earn more.

EARNING POINTS

• Characters. Getting your first character's biography accepted earns you 10 points. Creating additional characters can package you 20, although these must be active.
• Adopts. Adopting retired and unwanted characters or pups in the adoption board earns you 60 points.
• Posting & Activity. For every well thought-out roleplay post, you will earn 5 points. Another 2 will be added for each roleplay post in a roleplay event. Posting elsewhere in the forum, with the exception of Forum Games, may also earn you a few, but not as much as roleplay posts will. Remaining active throughout the site, including the chatbox, is a sure way to get your hands on some extra ones.
• Selling graphics, art, coding, etc. If you're able to draw, code, create graphics, you can open a point shop here and earn points. You're able to charge whatever prices you see fit, just as long as they're reasonable or else no one will purchase from you (if you charge too high) or you'll have a flood of requests (if you charge too low).
• Contests & Events. We will hold contests and events, both in character and out of character, every now and again. There are often rewards for participation and in contests, winning.
• Helping Out. There are many different ways to benefit Southern Point. Creating a guide in this board that the staff deem as useful to the site will earn you 40 points. Offering your ideas on how to improve the experience here will get you 20 points, a total of 40 if your suggestion is applied to the site. Another would be inviting new members; if they are accepted, you can bag yourself 60 points. Any type of fanart that is related to Southern Point and it's concepts can get you 50 points.

STATS

A GUIDE TO THE STAT SYSTEM OF SOUTHERN POINT

The stat system here at Southern Point is used to better engage members in roleplay. It gives members a closer look at how certain situations will turn out based on their character's strengths and weaknesses, often used within roleplay events involving a predator or prey animal. Each character, based on both age and rank within the pack, has a set amount of skill points to begin with, and can increase them as their character gains experience.

THE STATS

• Strength. Strength is the physical prowess of your character. The more strength a canid has, the harder they can hit, and the harder they are to knock down. Their strength also determines the size of prey they can take down. Those with higher strength take more to damage.
• Dexterity. Dexterity represents a character's agility and speed. Canids with high agility are more likely to dodge incoming attacks. They are also able to make their own attacks faster, with higher accuracy and frequency.
  
• Endurance. Endurance is your character's stamina, how long they can go fighting. Strength and dexterity rely heavily upon endurance and without a fair amount of it your canid will not be able to keep up much of anything for too long and tire easily.
  

• Intelligence. Intelligence is the character's ability to gather knowledge and information and apply it. However, generally the smarter a character is, the lower charisma and social charm they have.
• Perception. Perception is the character's ability to sense something before it happens. This doesn't necessarily mean they can predict the future, but they can narrow down what can happen, before it happens.
  

ASSIGNABLE SKILL POINTS

Below are the base amount of skill points for each rank or age group a character may fall into. Varying assignable skill points are to ensure your character has what they need to carry out the duties of their rank, or what we believe a canid of a certain age should have to survive. Canids that don't need many skill points to survive, such as pups, have fewer assignable skill points than those who need more skill to ensure survival. If, for whatever reason, you do not wish to use all stat points assignable to your character, please speak to staff ahead of time so we know what's up. Bazas may not need (or have) all their skills points used due to injuries, physical disabilities, old age ect. Each grouping also has a capacity (cap) for how many that character can earn. This is to ensure no one abuses the system.

• Prvý:
  6+ years = 56, capped at 110
  4-5 years = 53, capped at 108
  2-3 years = 49, capped at 106
• Druhý:
  6+ years = 53, capped at 104
  4-5 years = 49, capped at 102
  2-3 years = 46, capped at 100
• Balíčeks:
  6+ years = 43, capped at 96
  4-5 years = 39, capped at 94
  2-3 years = 36, capped at 90
• Mladosti: Have 10 stats to assign freely amongst the 5 skills.
• Baza: Have 25 stats to assign freely amongst the 5 skills. A canid can be considered a Baza once they reach 8 years old.
• Vagabond: Have 28 stats to assign freely amongst the 5 skills.

EARNING SKILL POINTS

Aside from your canid aging and moving into a new age bracket, or achieving a higher rank within the pack, there are multiple ways to earn skill points and increase your character's overall abilities. Below are the current options we have available.

• IC Events. Roleplay events offer a varying amount of skill points available for the taking. These can be various pack duties your character can carry out, such as hunting, patrols, taking care of an invading predator, and many more. Prey events generally offer the least, whilst predator and mother nature events will offer more. The amount available will be posted at the top of each event thread.
• OOC Events/Contests. OOC events will be handled on a case by case basis. Depending on what the contest is and your participation will decide how many skill points are up for grabs. OOC contests will most often be advertising contests, design contests, and whatever else staff comes up with.
